This is the incredible Waterloo Helmet, one of the most striking ceremonial objects from Iron Age Britain. It was dredged from the River Thames in 1868 near Waterloo Bridge in London. This Celtic helmet dates to about 150 β 50 BC, in the Late Iron Age. It would fit quite a small head, so itβs possible it was worn by a woman or maybe a statue of a deity.
