Over 5000 years ago, in the Boyne Valley in Ireland, a Neolithic society constructed Newgrange. Built in 3200 BC, it is older than the Pyramids of Giza and Stonehenge in England. But who built this astonishing monument? Where did they come from and how did they live?
What can we learn from the other megalithic structures nearby and throughout Ireland and Britain? Why was this landscape, and the midwinter sunrise so important? And what can ancient DNA analysis reveal about the builders of this monument and the great mysteries of Neolithic Ireland?
This is the astounding story of the national monument of Ireland, and the mysterious people who built it, the God-kings of Newgrange.
