Over three thousand years ago, in the bronze age Mediterranean, an incredible society built perhaps ten thousand of these stone structures that look something like medieval castles. But these buildings predate stone castles from the Middle Ages by more than two thousand years. These structures are called Nuraghe and they were built on the beautiful island of Sardinia by the culture named after them; the Nuragic Civilisation.
