Sadly, timing was not on the Dash 7's side, and the STOLport revolution de Havilland had banked on would not occur until ten years after the airliner's launch, by which time market dynamics and technology had rendered it largely obsolete, and thus meant there would be no last minute revival for the type, though this doesn't detract from the fact that the Dash 7 is one of the most superbly rugged and reliable STOL aircraft ever produced.
