Forging an Empire - The Portuguese Empire - Part 3 Conquest

The Portuguese Empire in the Indian Ocean begins to form under the watch of two impressive commanders - Francisco de Almeida and Afonso de Albuquerque. Almeida begins the grand strategy to take control of key strategic points where the trade routes comes together. His plan is derailed by the death of his son - however his vengeance culminates at the Battle of Diu where he sets the stage for Portugal's rise. Almeida is followed by the even more brilliant Albuquerque who leads one savage campaign of conquest after another bringing vast tracts of the Indian Ocean under the Portuguese Hegemony.
